Samples are tested in the laboratory using the DS2500 analyser (manufacturer FOSS) by the NIRS method based on regression against the reference (laboratory) method.

The DS2500 device is an analyser, which performs measurements using the reflection and transmission-reflection techniques with a near-infrared scanning range, allowing for quick and accurate determination of nutritional values in the produced feeds, raw materials and silages.

The basis for the application of the NIRS method in nutritional advisory is the development of an appropriate calibration. In our laboratory, we do not use standard factory calibration packages, but the ones standardised for Polish conditions, which guarantees reliable and authoritative analysis results. Calibration tests have been prepared by a team of scientists from the Agricultural University of Hugo Kołłątaj in Krakow based on the domestic feed research.
